Mental Health First Aid (Adult 2 Day)

One in four people in the UK will experience at least one diagnosable mental health issue in any one year (Health & Social Care Information Centre, 2009).  Stress, anxiety and depression are the biggest cause of sickness absence in our society. Work-related stress alone accounted for 45% of all working days lost to ill health in 2015/16 (Health and Safety Executive, 2017). Poor mental health costs UK employers £42 - £45 billion a year (Deloitte, 2022).

How can MHFA help?

The two day adult Mental Health First Aid Course is designed to give learners;

- A deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing, including your own.
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues.
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress.
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening.
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding.

If awareness is improved and stigma reduced early intervention can enable recovery and benefit everyone. A deeper understanding of personal self care is also achieved.

Ongoing Support

Learners also receive ongoing support via access to a support app and an online community.  They will be able to access toolkits, guidance, core mental health concepts and links to local services, as well as content and online events.  All who complete the course may opt in to monthly emails from Mental Health First Aid England to assist with their continuous development.

Recognised Qualification

Once a learner has completed the Mental Health First Aid 2 day course, they have the option of registering for an online assessment to achieve a Level 3 qualification.  This is regulated by ofqual and awarded by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH).

We are only taking in-house bookings at this time for between 8 and 16 learners (12 if online). Concessions will be made for multiple bookings and charity organisations, please enquire for a quote.
